Direct Neurofeedback

In CLARITY Direct Neurofeedback™ a weak, faint signal is sent back to the brain. This imperceptible signal causes tiny movements in brainwave patterns and allows the brain to get out of stuck, frozen patterns and re-organize itself. This is a very similar concept to re-booting a computer that has froze. CLARITY Direct Neurofeedback™ “un-trains” the brain from unhealthy “stuck” neuronal pathways and allows the brain to get back into a balanced healthy state. Clients do not do anything other than sit still during a session. The quick, tiny signal given to the brain through sensors does all the work.

The electrical activity from the brain determines the frequency of the signal that is going back to the brain. While it’s too small to directly stimulate neurons (or even inhibit them), this disrupting effect is able to have an impact on brainwaves. This change in brainwave frequencies then causes a change in the frequency of the signal going back to the brain. It is a direct feedback loop.

Clients typically notice changes either immediately or within the first two or three sessions. More immediate results, fewer and shorter sessions, and the ease and simplicity of sessions all distinguish CLARITY Direct Neurofeedback™ from Traditional Neurofeedback.

Building Positive Self- Esteem

Self-esteem is a term that really refers to how we think about ourselves. In a sense, it is the aggregate of all of the thoughts that run through our mind when thinking about our confidence in our abilities.  When people talk about good self-esteem, what they’re really talking about is a healthy level of self-confidence. Poor self-esteem on the other hand, has to do with excessive self-criticism. Pervasive poor self-esteem can result in anxiety and depression. Cognitive behavioral therapy is the most researched treatment proven to be effective in helping build self-esteem.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is the cutting-edge treatment of choice for most psychological problems. It is designed to be brief, problem-focused, and active. Rather than focusing on early developmental history and relationships, cognitive behavioral therapy targets the problems that are occurring in the present.
